Peacemaker (2022–2025) is James Gunn's spin-off from The Suicide Squad. Christopher Smith, a jingoistic killer in a chrome helmet, gets drafted onto a black-ops team and slowly works out he might be a person. The glam-metal opening dance alone earns it, and Freddie Stroma's Vigilante steals most of his scenes. John Cena turns out to be able to act — dumb, sad and funny, often in the same line.

The final episode fizzles, though — it spends its time setting up whatever comes next instead of landing an ending. Its one saving grace is the fight behind door 22, where the gang takes on a swarm of small creatures from another dimension. It is chaotic, stupid and very funny, exactly the tone the show is best at.
